The receptors in the brain work very well building self confidence when a person continually receives praise and encouragement.

I have found that positive verbal communication with my mentees results in them feeling good about themselves: the person hears my voice and the neurons in their brain translate my positive words into their body feeling confident. 💪 🙂

With regards to assisting mentees, I feel the following verbal communication is beneficial to building their self confidence. 👉

✅Focus on the positive

✅Keep on giving praise

✅Keep on giving encouragement

✅Set the right expectations

✅It’s ok to make mistakes

Here I am in the photo at 11 months of age with Dad who regularly encouraged me to climb up to the top of the gate. I felt secure with him encouraging me to move up every step whilst lightly holding my body so that I didn’t fall.🙂

Reaching the top was an invigorating feeling & a massive sense of achievement. 💪 As you can see in the photo, when reaching the top Dad took his hands off my body and I used to jump up and down like a monkey which worried Mum enormously! 😲

🤜What a wonderful experience of achievement in self confidence building!👏👏👏

Years later……..I’m still the same…..self confident happy monkey! 🐵😍

And now it’s a great feeling to build self confidence in others & I enjoy observing & understanding their feelings of joyful achievement. 👏👏👏
